Passengers Leaving Dhaka in an Orderly Manner by Train for Eid-ul-Azha

Passengers Leaving Dhaka in an Orderly Manner by Train for Eid-ul-Azha 2025. As Eid-ul-Azha 2025 approaches, thousands of people are preparing to leave the capital city of Dhaka to celebrate the festival with their families in different districts across Bangladesh. To ease this annual rush, Bangladesh Railway has introduced special trains, and the results are already being felt on the second day of the operation—Sunday, June 1st.

From early morning, Dhaka Railway Station witnessed a calm and disciplined passenger flow. Unlike in previous years where overcrowding and delays were common, this time passengers were seen queuing up in an organized manner. Thanks to the new Eid-ul-Azha train schedule, trains are departing according to the revised timetable, giving commuters a sense of reliability and relief.

Between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, a total of 12 intercity trains left Dhaka heading toward various destinations including Rangpur, Jamalpur, and Khulna. Except for the Rangpur Express, which departed 20 minutes late, all other trains maintained their schedules. This is a significant improvement over previous years when train delays were the norm

Passengers have praised the railway authorities for their efficient time management. Masudur Rahman, a commuter on the Jamalpur Express, expressed his satisfaction saying, “I used to wait for hours before, but now the train was right on time. The platform was clean and the process was smooth.”

To ensure a ticket-only boarding policy, the station implemented a three-level ticket verification checkpoint system. Passengers had to pass through all three to access the platform. This initiative is supported by mobile courts deployed to catch ticketless travelers and penalize offenders.

The presence of the Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Nirapatta Bahini (RNB) was also notable. Their active role in crowd control and security has made the journey safer and more pleasant for all. This enhanced level of coordination has discouraged ticketless travel, a common nuisance during holiday seasons.

Despite improvements, some challenges persist. Fardin Al Mahmud, a passenger on the Rangpur Express, shared, “Getting the ticket online was quite difficult, but once I arrived at the station, the experience was smooth. The train was ready, and I found my seat easily.”

While online ticket booking in Bangladesh has improved significantly with platforms like eticket.railway.gov.bd, limited ticket availability during high-demand periods like Eid remains a common issue.

Bangladesh Railway officials have made significant preparations to manage the Eid-ul-Azha passenger rush. One of the key strategies is bringing trains to the platform well before their scheduled departure time to prevent last-minute chaos.

The Railway Ministry has directed all stations to follow enhanced operational protocols, including:

  • Cleanliness and hygiene maintenance
  • Security deployment
  • Crowd monitoring with CCTV
  • Coordination with local law enforcement

The positive feedback from passengers is a testament to the success of the initiative. Many expressed joy at not having to wait long hours or jostle through crowds. For them, the 2025 Eid journey by train in Bangladesh has already proven to be one of the most efficient in recent years.

One traveler commented, “If this kind of service continues, then train travel during Eid will be a joy, not a struggle.”

Although the current measures have shown encouraging results, it’s essential for Bangladesh Railway to continue investing in:

  • Digital ticketing upgrades
  • Capacity expansion
  • Staff training
  • Passenger education

With an increasing number of people opting for intercity train travel in Bangladesh, maintaining such standards during future festivals like Eid-ul-Fitr or Durga Puja is critical.

The Eid-ul-Azha 2025 train journey from Dhaka has so far set a new benchmark in terms of organization, punctuality, and cleanliness. With improved ticket verification, security, and train schedule management, Bangladesh Railway is winning the hearts of its passengers. While there’s still room for improvement, especially in online ticket availability, the current efforts reflect a positive shift in public transport during Eid. If these efforts are sustained, Bangladesh can truly offer a world-class railway service to its citizens.
